Some varieties like Favites grow incredibly fast. Other varieties like Coelastrea are one of the slowest. That is the major hurdle with long term aquaculture – the growth rate of these corals. Caring for Favia coral is not too challenging, making this a good choice for beginning reef keepers. The most important thing is to keep the water quality high, but this applies to any coral species. Don’t neglect regular aquarium maintenance.
